Annoying Gmail Notifier Beep
Tons of people use Gmail for their everyday email nowadays. A couple years ago, Google released a tiny piece of software for Windows that would notify users whenever new email arrived.
When this is used in Windows Vista, (I don”t know if it works this way in XP or not, its been a while since I installed it there) it gives a loud beep when a new message arrives, practically causing me to crap myself. I did some searching on the internet and found out how to disable this irritating and shrill noise. The steps can be found below:
1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager.
2. Under the View option at the top, select “Devices By Connection”
making sure that “Show Hidden Devices” is checked.
3. On the list that appears there is something called “Beep”. Right click on this and select Properties.
4. Click on the “Driver” tab, click Stop next to Status, then next to Startup, select the Type as Disabled.
5. Click Ok and enjoy peacefulness whenever an email arrives.
